Sir Daniel Mackinnon Hamilton (6 December 1860 – 6 December 1939) was a renowned Scottish businessman. He was the builder of rural construction programmes at the time of Indian National Movement. He is mainly focused on social up-liftmen, education and selfhelp for the people of Gosaba. He has established Consumer Co oparative Society, Model Farm, Gosaba Central Co oparative Bank, Jamini Rice mill Rural reconstruction Institute & etc. He has been closely associated with noble laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi.
In the year 1903 he bought land of '' . . . about 900 acres in Gosaba and had it reclaimed by feeling the woods and rising embankment on the Riverside.
The home of the Royal Bengal Tiger, Sajnekhali is also a heaven for bird wathers. Tourists can enjoy the panoramic view of Sunderban from Sajnekhali Watch Tower. One can have a glimpse of animals like tiger, deer etc. Nature Interpretation Center has been established which is protected by a wired fence. Another worth-mentioning spot adjacent to it is crocodile and turtle farm. Other animals that have taken shelter are Fishing Cats, Wild Boar, Macaques, Flying Fox, Chital, Pangolin and others.

It forms the core area of Sunderban National Park. It is the highest tower of Sunderban. It has a height of 50feet. It takes near about 6hrs to reach Bonie camp from Pakhiralay. It is at a hand-shaking distance from Bay of Bengal. One can have a glimpse of wildlife of Sunderban frequently.
Kalash camp lies at the estuary of River Matla. It lies outside the core area so visitors mainly with armed gaurds are permitted to reach the beach of Kalash.
